Type Locality and Naming

Lithology and Thickness

Sandy claystone. It is mainly composed of shales and sandstones.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformable with Kanbala Fm

Upper contact

Overlain by a hiatus from Priabonian to Rupelian. Followed by Tumyaung Fm

Regional extent

It is developed in Irrawaddy River Delta. This unit can be correlated with the Late Eocene sequences of the Minbu-Salin Basin.
